Cliché Software Introduces PodNews 3 Preview Release
PodNews 3 Preview Release 1 enables users to synchronize news from any website with an RSS or RDF stream, either from a built-in list of hundreds or by specifying a URL. It's not just headlines that you can download to your iPod, but also weather forecasts, lyrics to your songs and text notes. The final release will be able to handle a wider variety of data still, with driving directions, stock quotes and more planned.

Have you actually used the program? No? Didn't think so.
If you had, you would probably notice that where sites provide the "description" element in their feeds, PodNews downloads that. Support for full content, as used by Unsanity.org for example, is on the cards for the final version.
I would also encourage you to submit feedback directly to me, or via our website (although our bug tracker is currently down, but it should be up soon).
Also, it's not just headlines that we do. Weather forecasts, lyrics and notes are all included in PR1, and we are developing more features for the final release. This is still an early release and is not fully featured.
I hope that helps answer some of your questions.

Or maybe it means we're developing another product that will be shareware? Who knows. :)

I disagree. I think it's great. Would it be nice to read an entire article? Sure. But this way, the user knows from day to day, which sites have the info he wants to come to later when he has more time. Lame Headlines or Same-old-Same news ... skip the site for that day. Cool Headline: log on after work ... it's a nice teaser to look forward to when you get home after a long day.
Weather Forecasts, Song Lyrics, Text Notes ... sounds great to me. Also, Find a Headline you want to read later. Jump online and Copy/Paste it into your Text Notes. Done. Later during the day, you're set.
Ultimately with Driving Directions, Stock Quotes and the like, I see this as really an invaluable software tool.

Downloaded it... love it!

I have seen the screenshots and it looks great. Unfortunately, I don't have Jaguar :-( Is there any chance of a pre-Jaguar version without the metal skin?
If not, oh well. I'm getting Jaguar soon anyway...
